Who Will Speak For Me?

In today’s world, a typical conversation with the Lord could very well go as follows:

God: I'll tell you what I’m gonna do…..

Man: Are you gonna give me something?

God: I have already given you everything you need; all you have to do is follow the directions.

Man: Call me later; let’s do lunch.

Today, people are looking for very small camels and very large needles.

How do you answer God, when God calls to you?

Adam: "the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And God said, Who told thee that you were naked?"[1] That was the beginning of the mess we are in today.

Noah:  according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

Abraham said:  behold here I am

Jacob said:  here am I

Samuel said: "Speak, God. I'm Ready to Listen"

David said to Goliath, the Philistine: you come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

Habakkuk said: I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

Hosea said: Behold, here I am, Lord

Peter said: you are the Christ, the Son of God.

Paul said: Who are you Lord, and what would you have me to do?

Jesus answered the Father by accomplishing what the Father sent Him to do.

What does God want us to say?

In Ezekiel 3:11 God says: Then go to the exiles, to your countrymen; and speak to them. Tell them, ‘Here is what Adonai Elohim, says,’ whether they listen or not.”[2]

In Ezekiel 3:18-21 God tells us: "If I say to a wicked person, ‘You will certainly die’; and you fail to warn him, to speak and warn the wicked person to leave his wicked way and save his life; then that wicked person will die guilty; and I will hold you responsible for his death. On the other hand, if you warn the wicked person, and he doesn’t turn from his wickedness or his wicked way, then he will still die guilty; but you will have saved your own life. Similarly, when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits wickedness, I will place a stumblingblock before him — he will die; because you failed to warn him, he will die in his sin; his righteous acts which he did will not be remembered; and I will hold you responsible for his death. But if you warn the righteous person that a righteous person should not sin, and he doesn’t sin; then he will certainly live, because he took the warning; and you too will have saved your life.”[3]

In Psalm 94:16 King David asks: "Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?"[4] This question is still being asked today, from the current occupier of the throne of David.

In 1Kings 19:10 Elijah said, "I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down your altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away."[5]  Jesus said we would have problems because of  our belief in Him, and telling others about Him.

In Jeremiah 6:10-11, the prophet said: "To whom should I speak? Whom should I warn? Who will listen to me? Their ears are dull, they can’t pay attention. For them the word of Adonai has become unattractive, an object of scorn. This is why I am full of Adonai’s fury; I am weary of holding it back."[6]  I can verify having this feeling myself.

Jeremiah 20:9, the prophet said: "But if I say, “I won’t think about him, I won’t speak in his name any more,” then it seems as though a fire is burning in my heart, imprisoned in my bones; I wear myself out trying to hold it in, but I just can’t do it."[7]

1 Peter 3:13-16 says: "For who will hurt you if you become zealots for what is good? But even if you do suffer for being righteous, you are blessed! Moreover, don’t fear what they fear or be disturbed, but treat the Messiah as holy, as Lord in your hearts; while remaining always ready to give a reasoned answer to anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you — yet with humility and fear, keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are spoken against, those who abuse the good behavior flowing from your union with the Messiah may be put to shame."[8]

You will not be alone in speaking for the Lord.

In Exodus 4:10-12 we read: "And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shall say."[9]

Matthew 10:20 says: For it won’t be you doing the talking—it will be the Spirit of your heavenly Father speaking through you![10]

Luke 12:11-12 says: "when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say."[11]

Luke 21:14-15 says: "Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist."[12]

John 16:13 says: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come."[13]

In the Orthodox Jewish Bible 1 Peter 3:13-16 tells us: "And who is the one harming you if you have kana’ut (zeal) for HaTov (The Good)?  But if indeed you should suffer tzoros (trouble) because of Tzidkat Hashem (righteousness of God), you are blessed and happy. But do not fear their pachad (terror), neither be troubled. But reverence in your levavot Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach as Adoneinu, prepared always for a hitstaddekut (an apologetic defense) to everyone coming to you with a she’elah (question), ready with a word concerning the tikvah (hope) in you, 16 But with anavah (meekness) and yirat Shomayim (awe of Heaven), having a clear matzpun (conscience), so that, when you are maligned by lashon hora (derogatory speech), your abusers may be humiliated by your midas chasidus (not causing harm) in Moshiach (union with Messiah)."[14]

In the Complete Jewish Bible 1 Peter 3:13-16 says: "For who will hurt you if you become zealots for what is good? But even if you do suffer for being righteous, you are blessed! Moreover, don’t fear what they fear or be disturbed, but treat the Messiah as holy, as Lord in your hearts; while remaining always ready to give a reasoned answer to anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you — yet with humility and fear, keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are spoken against, those who abuse the good behavior flowing from your union with the Messiah may be put to shame."[15]

In Ephesians, Paul said: "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel"[16]

Matthew 20:19: "Go, therefore, make talmidim (disciples) for Rebbe (Rabbi Jesus), Melech HaMoshiach (the One anointed by the Father to redeem Israel) of all the nations, giving them a tevilah (hope) in a mikveh mayim (baptism) in Hashem (God), in the Name of HaAv (the Father), and HaBen (the Son), and HaRuach Hakodesh (the Holy Spirit),[17]"

You have all heard the expression "many are cold ,but few are frozen". The problem in today's apostate pulpits, is that many preachers are REFRIGE ORATORS. Many are being called, but few are listening to the calling of the Lord. Many, in our churches today, are frozen in their seats; listening to the health, healing and prosperity messages.  They are busy with the feel good gospel, instead of what the Bible really says. That is partly the responsibility of the preacher and partly the responsibility of the person who doesn't study the scriptures to show themselves approved. How would you know if God was calling you, if you don't know the scriptures, and have you even thought of what your answer would be?

To go to church and not be a born again Christian is similar to living together without being married. Going to church without being a Christian is not a sin, whereas the non marital union is a sin. The similarity is that in both cases, people are essentially testing the waters (experimenting without commitment). Are you testing the waters or do you want to follow Jesus?

Over the past fifty years or so, we have seen common sense replaced by common insensibility. Over time our population has been desensitized to the difference between right and wrong. I have recently read an article that said: the environmentalists say the world can only support two billion people and that four billion of the current six billion would have to be eliminated. The article said this would be done by eliminating whole populations, starting with the negro race and ending up with just the European whites and the Asians. In order for this plan to be accomplished, the Judo/Christian values would have to be replaced by a one world religion and one world governing body. We can already see the desensitization process at work. The following are methods being used to bring about this goal; drug legalization, changing sexual preferences, acceptance of fornication and adultery, sexual perversions, lying acceptable for political Expediency, legalizing suicide and euthanasia and the division's being encouraged by ethnicity and monetary discrepancy.

The book, 1984, was about control of society. We see by the NSA, and other governmental agency's information gathering, there is no such thing as privacy anymore. Don't think for a moment that other governments aren't doing the same thing. Big brother is definitely watching you. It knows who you are, where you are and can guess pretty much what you are doing. HOWEVER, big Father is also watching, and knows how all of this fits into His plans for the end times. Despite what we see, or think, God is in control.

1 Peter 4:1-5 says: "Therefore, since the Messiah suffered physically, you too are to arm yourselves with the same attitude. For whoever has suffered physically is finished with sin, with the result that he lives the rest of his earthly life no longer controlled by human desires, but by God’s will. For you have spent enough time already living the way the pagans want you to live — in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, wild parties and forbidden idol-worship. They think it strange that you don’t plunge with them into the same flood of dissoluteness, and so they heap insults on you.
But they will have to give an account to him who stands ready to judge the living and the dead."[18]

There are those who say that the verses in Mark, where Jesus gives the commission, were not in the original text.  In the first place, how would they know that? There are only a few manuscripts that don't have it.  Does anyone doubt that it is a message Jesus would want us to have?  Soooooo, what should be the answer to those verses? Yes Lord, I will follow your direction, is the answer I give. I will speak for Him. Jesus told us to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." [19] Our duty, is to see to it that as many as possible get the message of Salvation through Jesus, because at any moment it could be too late.
