The Bible tells us that a man who
doesn't provide for his family is worse than an infidel. What does the bible
tell us about the things he should provide? The answer is food, housing,
clothing, protection and education. Jesus told his disciples to, if necessary,
sell some of their stuff and buy swords. The equivalent weapon to the sword
then, today would be a firearm. The sixth Commandment says not to murder. It
doesn't say not to kill, because it is sometimes necessary to kill: in
protection of your family, in time of war, and when killing animals for food.
"THE FALLACY
OF STRICTER GUN LAWS:
Those who advocate stricter gun
laws or confiscating guns from law abiding gun owners are of the same mindset
as those pacifists who refuse to do their part to defend our country or
neighborhoods, but always expect others to risk their own lives to protect
them. Those who had guns and had to defend themselves and their own property
during such times as the Katrina disaster, because the police couldn't, might
have quite a different opinion about the right to
own guns and arm themselves for their own defense. Places like Chicago, having the strictest gun laws,
ironically also have the highest deaths rates by gun violence. Criminals are
not going to abide by gun laws, so their innocent neighbors are subjected to
continual violence because they don't have the means to protect themselves when
the job is too great for the police to help them. Progressives are led by their
emotions, not by facts or reality. Plus, more often than not they have no idea
what it's like to have to live in the midst of gang land culture, where
criminals and illegal guns are permitted to reign over entire regions.
Progressives want to take guns away from law abiding citizens so that only those
who are in power can rule over citizens and create a government police force
state! This is what the Obama administration is seeking to do through the UN,
to undermine our constitution and remove our sovereignty as a nation. Warning:
with over a year left of his tyrannical reign, he just may be successful, and
progressives will have helped him every step of the way as they perceive
themselves to be so much wiser than our founding fathers. So PC they have no
ability to see the damage they do to our own country.
Where are these mass shootings taking place- in
clearly defined "gun free zones" where the mentally ill or
terrorists, domestic or foreign, are assured security to carry out their evil
desires."
Australia's experience -
"Australian Gun Law
Update
Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts....
From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia
Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see
the real
figures from Down Under.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender
640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own
government, a program costing Australia
taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first
year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent, Australia-wide,
assaults are up 9.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes,
44 percent)! In the state of Victoria..... lone,
homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.(Note that while the
law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not
and criminals still possess their guns!) While
figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease
in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past
12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There
has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly,
while the resident is at home. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how
public
safety has decreased, after such monumental effort
and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of
guns....' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor
or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information. The
Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of
honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only
the law-abiding citizens.
Take note Americans, before it's too late!"
Great Britain's experience -
"Gun control in Britain passed
in stages, beginning just after World War I and continuing in a reactionary
fashion with increasing strictness through the 1990s. When the final stage
arrived in 1997, and virtually all handguns were banned via the Firearms Act,
the promise was a reduction in crime and greater safety for the British people.
But the result was the emergence of Britain
as the 'most violent country in Europe'. In 2009, twelve years after the Firearms
Act of 1997 was passed, Daily Mail Online reported that Britain was 'the
most violent country in Europe.' They also
reported that Britain’s home
figures showed 'the UK [had]
a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S.
and South Africa.'"
A search for answers -
I
posted the following statement on Facebook to see if anyone had any responsible
answers. I posted it on three different sites to get a well rounded response. "Would someone, anyone, please tell me how
any additional form of gun control laws could possibly prevent slaughters like
the recent one in Oregon.
Calling for more gun control is a knee jerk emotional response to a situation
that needs clear thinking. Please, I am open to suggestions, as long as they
are logical. ALSO, please, pretty please with molasses on it, don't post any
stupid, illogical or emotional responses to this honest request for
information."
Responses
-
Rick -
The only person that will protect you is
you...period !!
Jack - Gun control?
I don't think any law will stop this. You will never stop everyone who is
determined to kill. I would say let's stop glorifying the shooters. Get rid of
the "Gun Free Zones". And I'll end with a quote from Ben Franklin:
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary
safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Clair Ann - Guns
don't kill people. People kill people. Humans need lessons in humanity. Humans
need lessons in love. Humans need lessons in respect. Humans need lessons in
compassion. So, start in the education system. Because the most recent parents
of the world have none of those things, and therefore can't teach their
children how to be a good human. It is a sad state of humanity. Gun control?
Most of us don't have a gun. But if we did, the playing field would be equal.
That might change things.
Donald
- I think the illusion is wearing pretty
thin. They have absolutely no interest in preventing more slaughters. Their
only intent is to disarm their intended victims (i.e. US!)
Jeff - Honestly I can't think of any. They can
make all the laws they want. Criminals and crazies don't care about law.
Pat
- Remember when
Biden said we don't have time or resources to enforce the laws on the books
now, says it all, no new laws will solve anything
Allan - It won't but
if you ENFORCE laws on the books (U.S. CODE, TITLE 18 chapter titled FIREARMS)
It would be the begging of the end to this problem. SPREAD THE WORD IF YOU
REALLY WANT IT TO STOP. Certain politicians want to play god. Only GOD can play
GOD!
Bruce - it is the
Saul Alinsky rules for radicals....never let a catastrophe go to waste
Damian - Are you
asking what "Law" could prevent evil? when only good people follow
the laws, additional "Gun Control" laws only hurt good people by not
allowing them to have the tools to protect themselves from evil people....Now
lets look at it from a different perspective; How do you know if a person is
evil and can it be detected? other than a past "Criminal History"
NO...That's why it should be more important to have Guns
Marc -
They don't want gun control they want us all classified as
lunatics and martial law
Mark A Archer Oh come on
Rick you really think you are going to get smart well thought out solutions to
the problem. The liberal answer is always the same. TAKE OUR GUNS.
Michael - Gun Free
Zones...is Failed Gun Control
Steve A - Gun control
does help, you have to have good steady control of the gun when you shoot the
bad guys.
Steve B - The Libs have
gotten what they want. Gun free zones and unarmed citizens. See what happens? A
mandatory law arming a few unknown educators in each school would cure this
problem.
Ron - Outlaws will
ALWAYS find a way to get guns. MOST gun crimes are committed using STOLEN or
illegally purchased guns. Anyone purchasing a gun from a licensed dealer
usually doesn't commit a crime with it. A "Gun Free Zone" is saying
"you can come in and do what you want because we have no way to protect
ourselves.".
Bobby - Taking all if
you can find them all guns will not prevent mentally challenged, radicalized
people or any hate group in the world from doing their dirty deeds. Self
defense is you responsibly.
David - It won't. So
don't worry about not understanding. Only liberals think they can stop gun violence
with laws. Look at what just happened in "gun free" Australia.
Islamist WITH GUNS attacked a police station. Where are the laws now?
Justin - It would. If
we give in to complete gun control, Obama will stop staging mass shootings in
an effort to get more gun control.
Tammy - Laws are not
the problem....law breakers are. this admin screams this nonsense for only one
reason, disarmament.
Paul - Government is
not the solution to a spiritual malady. People are evil or sick, probably can't
afford to get mental help. Spiritual help is always free.
Scott - Well, let's
see. We already have 20,000 gun laws and regulations pushed down our throats
despite having a God given right and an affirmation of said right and topped
off with the explicitly written SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
So, what was your question again?...lol
William - A suggestion
- Those convicted of using a gun in a crime get five years plus the sentence
for the felony- no parole, no probation and no plea bargain as to the gun
enhancement. For the second offense of a felony with a gun- life, no parole, no
probation, no plea bargain. Mandatory death sentence for a murder using a gun.
Shawn - Obama wants
victims to be unarmed so Muslims and black lives mater can kill as many
American Christians as possible
Beverly - I personally
am going to one of the local gun shops and will start the process for a gun
permit, this granny is gettin a gun.
Scott
B - Your asking
a corrupt government that thrives off of the incarceration business to start
locking up thousands upon thousands of dollar signs
Darrell - All states
should have Constitution Carry, that was our right in the beginning, should be
our right now, why should we have to have a permit, I am 59 years old, I have
been shooting handguns sence I was 6 & rifles before that, I was taught by
the best, so why should I have to pay for a dang permit?
Marshall - ....here's
a hint! FACT: SINCE THE 1950's, ALL MASS KILLINGS (except TWO) HAVE BEEN
PERPETRATED IN GUN FREE ZONES! Sheriff David Clarke is right: #NoGunFreeZones
Justin - My gun permit
was written over 200 years ago
Joe - There is no
law currently on the books or any additional I can think of to prevent. I do
feel that letting an evil religion into the country is a mistake. I am not a
doctor of any sort. I have no reason for mass killings. I do believe in
conspiracy theories. The timing of these events is suspicious.
Glenda - We need
to teach our young adults how to handle these weapons and once trained they
should be allowed to carry. These people that are coming in to unarmed places
know that they are unarmed. If people were armed themselves there would be no
real chance of
killing 10 20 a hundred people because everyone could and should protect
themselves. I'm not talking about a week of training. I'm talking about it
being a full fledged course as soon as the person turns 18. A course you have
to pass physically, mentally and for that matter socially. If the military can
train them at 18 so can we. Just my thoughts but I'll bet it would surely have
these people pause before shooting.
Don - Shooter dude
was Mental / brainwashed - he had 13 legal weapons - his parents let this
happen. Penalty needs to be placed on those around the Dude
Damian - Lets not blame
the Parents Don I know Obama says your a child until you reach 27
years old (LMAO)..; He was a grown Man responsible for his own actions....
Linda - Yes Damian,
but his mother knew he had mental problems and should have kept the guns away
from him.
Nick - 1. No guns. 2
let refugee army in. 3. Start civil war. 4 Go bankrupt trying to bankrupt Russia 5.
invite UN into our country to battle not just islam but people like us. 6. No
more U.S.A . But U.S.S.A. homeland security didn't buy a billion rounds of ammo
and ten million coffins becuase there was a sale at Wal-Mart going on.
Scott B - Stop letting
Islam be practiced in U.S.
is a good start
Ernie - Its a mute
answer my friend
James - That's a
no-brainer. Mandatory firearms training required to graduate high school.
Scott - I'm a 2nd
amendment believer for sure. Yet many places aren't enforcing their background
checks. That wouldn't totally fix the problem, but it'd really help keep guns
out of the hands of the people with known mental problems. Seems crazy but I
have talked to people that have legally bought guns and brought them home the
same day(what?). Nothing is going to be a total fix in a nation of free
citizens without stomping on their inalienable rights. Always going to be
crazy/evil people/gov'ts sadly.
Michelle - If we make guns illegal then nobody will
be shot anymore. That's how we stopped everybody from using drugs.
What
I deduced, from the above, and further study, covers a wide range of thought;
most of it defeatist. First, liberals want gun control, but don't want to
discuss facts. Hard right folks don't want any gun control and therefore don't
want to discuss facts. The second amendment covers those between the two
extremes. No one seems to have a real answer for the Islamist attacks and those
committed by the insane. No one seems to have and answer for those areas where
the criminals are almost completely in charge of their neighborhoods. Everyone
agrees that if someone wants you dead there are many ways, other than a gun, to
get the job done. There have always been those who would take the guns away
from everybody, except the police and army. These people have never been on the
side of reason, or even possibility. I have placed a chart, at the end of this
article, that gives the murder rates compared to gun ownership rates around the
world by the UNODC & Small arms survey
Examples of hyper-emotionalism -
Australian Group Calls For
Boycott Of U.S.
Until America
Fixes Its Gun Laws. Gun Control Australia
director Samantha Lee suggested a boycott of non-essential travel to America to
protest its inaction on gun control. (notice report above on their gun
consequences)
The White
House confirmed that President Obama was preparing a series of executive
actions on gun control to match his recent passion on the issue after the
latest mass shooting in Oregon."
Democrat presidential candidate
Hillary Clinton blamed the NRA and Republicans for mass shootings during a
Friday speech in Florida.
Facts -
The Oregon shooting/slaughter was just another
incidence where a wicked gun forced an innocent young man into a gun free zone
where it could feel safe. The gun then proceeded to
shoot 17 people, and afterwards it killed it's young man. From this we can see
that guns don't kill people, people kill people. Forks don't make you fat, pens
don't make you write dirty words, etc., etc., etc..
A gun is a tool, no better and no worse than any other
tool; such as a shovel, an axe, a hammer, a knife and a pen. A tool is as good
or as bad as the person using it.
The United
States is third in murders throughout the
world. But if you take out Chicago, Detroit, Washington D.C. and New Orleans, the United States is forth from the bottom for
murders, Believe it or not, these four cities also have the toughest gun
control laws in the United
States.
Vermont
does not require a permit to carry a firearm. Vermont has the third lowest crime rate in
the nation.
Britain
banned guns on 1967. Today there are is a knife attack every four minutes -
130,000 per year.
President Obama says guns make us less safe. President
Obama is surrounded by guns 24 hours a day, for his protection; the same is
true with his wife and children. President Obama's kids are surrounded by 11
armed guards to and from school. Obama wants to protect our children with gun
free zones.
"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is s
good guy with a gun." Wayne LaPierre
"At the 2013 homicide rate, roughly one in every 285
Americans will be murdered in the course of their lives.
A U.S. Justice Department study based on crime data from
1974-1985 found:
• 42% of Americans will be the victim of a completed violent crime
(assault, robbery, rape) in the course of their lives.
• 83% of Americans will be the victim of an attempted or completed
violent crime.
• 52% of Americans will be the victim of an attempted or completed
violent crime more than once"
Criminals,
terrorists, rapists and politicians are in favor of gun control, because they
hate it when we shoot back.
In September 2015,
in Xinjiang, China, a knife attack left at least
50 people dead. Making innocent people defenseless does not protect them from

The Second Amendment -
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the
security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
Those people who fought in the Revolutionary War were not all that well
regulated. They were farmers, clerks, lumberjacks, politicians, sales people,
carpenters, bricklayers, cooks, clergy, and many other various and sundry
occupations. They ranged in age from 12 to 80 and were there because they
believed in the cause. As best as they could, they regulated the militia, but
they depended on people who had their own weapons and equipment to help with
the cause. One of the main reasons we were not attacked by the Japanese in WWI
was because they knew the American people were armed. This information came
from records obtained after the war was over.
There are those who suggest that only the
"militia" should be allowed to own or carry arms. These are the
people who wish to subvert the meaning of the second amendment. The key words
that have guarded our rights are "the right of THE PEOPLE to KEEP and BEAR arms".
The US
has the highest gun ownership rate in the world - an average of 88 per 100
people. That puts it first in the world for gun ownership - and even the number
two country, Yemen, has significantly fewer - 54.8
per 100 people But the US does not have the worst firearm murder rate -
that prize belongs to Honduras, El Salvador and Jamaica. In fact, the US is number
28, with a rate of 2.97 per 100,000 people. The United States is third in murders
throughout the world. But if you take out Chicago,
Detroit, Washington
D.C. and New Orleans,
the United States is forth
from the bottom for murders, Believe it or not, these four cities also have the
toughest gun control laws in the United States. Puerto
Rico tops the world's table for firearms murders as a percentage
of all homicides - 94.8%. It's followed by Sierra
Leone in Africa and Saint
Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean.

Update added 1-5-2016
Dune Hill with Robert Coble.
Why Grandpa carries a gun. The quintessential reason why Grandpa carries a gun.
Please take time to read this and pay particular attention to
"A Little Gun History" about half way down, staggering numbers! Why Carry a Gun?
My old Grandpa said to me,
"Son, there comes a time in every man's life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and usually it's when he becomes too old to take a whoopin'."
I don't carry a gun to kill people; I carry a gun to keep from being killed.
I don't carry a gun because I'm evil; I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see the evil in the World.
I don't carry a gun because I hate the government; I carry a gun because I understand the limitations of government.
I don't carry a gun because I'm angry;
I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.
I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone;
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.
I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man; I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.
I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate; I carry a gun because unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.
I don't carry a gun because I love it; I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.
Police protection is an oxymoron.
Free citizens must protect themselves because police do not protect you from crime; they just investigate the crime after it happens, and then call someone in to clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take a whoopin'!
A LITTLE GUN HISTORY... PLEASE DON'T THINK FOR A MOMENT, THAT THIS COULDN'T HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY ALSO !!!!!!
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control:
From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control:
From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938:
